1) I know it's Lent and this ain't the time to be talkin about sugary snacks, but would you please look at this:
Remember when the Edmund blew his family in to the White Witch for one of these babies? There's a reason for that. That icy old hag knew just the treat to get Eddie boy to cave in like a house of cards. Trust me, these things are delicious. I know because when I was in 5th grade, we had to do a project on ethnic foods and this kid in my class brought in Turkish Delights and EVER SINCE THEN I have wanted one. That's over twenty years of TD craving, my friends. Wait..does that mean I'm recommending a specific Amazon food product that I've never even tried? yuppers.
This is NOT the 1970's Little House series that so many of us have come to know and be creeped out by. My friend Kate has an irrational love/obsession for/with that series. Kate - I love you but your extensive knowledge of all 19 seasons of LHOP frightens me.
This movie is amazing. I promise. You will be on the edge of your seat the whole time. "Ohhh , like churning butter is sooo AMAZING!" you sneer. No! there are no grueling butterchurn scenes. Only cool stuff. The filmography is beautiful! And you can watch this with your whole family and not feel bored (although some kiddos might be scared by a few scenes, so review first if you wish)!! Oh and it's only 4.99 on Amazon! Can't go wrong there.
3) This post and the "layers" advice. I LOOOOVE dressing in layers! And I love her outfit!
4) Madden Girl's "Sanguine" boots!!!! WOOHOOO! Sanguine! That's me that's me I'm a sanguine! I'm so getting these.
5) This chimney. NOT the seagull. I love birds but hate those things. They are not birds, they're flying rats. But the chimney!!! We're so excited! CONCLAVE STALK.
9 seasons my friend. 9. Sheesh. Way to make me look a tad crazy.
ReplyDeleteshhhh you ain't crazy, Katred. You just really love Little House.
DeleteAll 90 seasons.
And you know what? I love you for it. :)
The Wright brothers also have an obsession with Turkish Delight, for the exact same reason.
ReplyDeleteThese "Wright brothers" you speak of...do they have a specific brand of TD that they like??
DeleteYou know, I should probably check Urban Dictionary to make sure there's nothing disgusting or innapropriate that goes by the nickname of "TD". uhoh.
DeleteThe White Witch, that is...not an ethnic kid in the class...lol
ReplyDeletelove the cow boy boots...I've heard good things about the Laura Ingalls Wilder movie too...I'll have to check it out, I always loved her!
ReplyDeletePatty, it's awesome! Def check it out!
DeleteI splurged on some TD from one of the many ethnic aisles at the grocery store. The only flavor available was Rose. Like soap. Blech. I MUCH prefer Aplets and Cotlets. http://www.libertyorchards.com/category/Aplets_and_Cotlets
ReplyDeleteWell I definitely remember the taste of soap from my childhood, and it was NOT good! ;) I shall look into your link. Thanks Jessica!
DeleteSo, your five favorites are all awesome but that's not what I want to talk about...
ReplyDeleteYou do realize that the title of your blog may be the best thing ever, yes?
LOVE. it.
GIRL!!! you got mama grinnin like a fool!
Deleteand to think I almost went with "My Blog".
haha just kidding:) Thank you, Hallie! I'm glad you like it!
