Whooooo Wants A Bedtime Story????

This was the busiest day ever. Five workouts away from my house per week  and five small meals for me per day means that my house is getting CHA-O-TIC. I mean beyond the normal chaos.

Normally, I'm here all the time. I barely ever leave! When winter comes, I like to stay home even more.

But now I'm going out pretty much every day, so I needed  today to catch up on a bunch of stuff. This is a very short post which I am only posting because I prrrrromised you guys I would do 7 For 7.

So today I did a ton of laundry. It even got folded and put away in drawers! Dishes, cooking, cleaning, home edumucationz, etc etc and oh! I drank a ton of water. At least a gallon (not joking).

And now it's time to go to bed. But before that, I will tell you a bedtime story. You ready?

Ok. Settle down now, my little honeychildrens...

Long, long ago, in a far away land....

Or actually two nights ago, after I'd written my Jesus at the Gym post, I went to sleep and had the following dream.

I actually haven't jumped like that since I was a small child.

In the dream, my family and I were sitting in our living room, when suddenly we saw a large brown owl out the window. This would be huge for me. If I saw an owl outside of my living room window, I would NEVER throw a glass of water at it. No, Sir! No..it would be the equivalent of a tweenager with Bieber Fever meeting the Biebs in person.

Trainwreck.

Beautiful miracle.

Somehow, moments later, the owl was INSIDE my home. And then FOR SOME MIRACULOUS REASON, the owl was sitting on my arm, as if I were The Falconer! Imagine if your Bieber-obsessed tweenaged daughter had Justin Bieber sitting on her arm!

Ugh who would EVER want to imagine  that? Nevermind.

Who feels ill now? ME.

We walked all over the house. Up the stairs.

My owl doesn't look NEARLY as happy as I do.

Down the stairs.

What's the problem? He looks like he feels dizzy.

Suddenly  -and I really, really don't know why - I ATE the owl.

FOR SHAME!

Please don't ask me to explain this. It was simply horrible, and honestly I'm still traumatized by it. I have absolutely no explanation for this particular decision. I ate it's head right off, working my way down toward the talons in a rather speedy fashion.

GASP! WHAT IS HAPPENING!?!?!

Good grief, Woman! Leave some leftovers!!

Then in my dream, I remember hearing Dan say, "Heather, where is the owl?"

Ignore that floating head in the background, ok? It's late and I ain't got time to draw another picture.

It haunts me still, right up to this very moment. I can feel the guilt and remorse of eating this splendid creature..the brown owl.

Perhaps this is the diet talking.

Welp, that's it everyone! I've made good on my promise, and now it's time for bed. NIGHTY NIGHT!!! SWEET DREAMS!!

Eye see you.

  1. Owl = wisdom; eat = absorb it into your innermost being. A hilarious dream, but it seems to me that the message is a very positive one.

  2. Would it be weird if I told you that a few nights ago I dreamed in stick figures... after I read your Jesus at the Gym post right before going to bed?

Because if it would be weird or creepy or stalkerish then it totally didn't happen! Who dreams in stick figures anyway?

  4. That last picture is going to haunt my dreams tonight. "Eye see you."

No, no it's not. It's the arm-Beiber. *shudder*

  5. Too bad everyone else in this house is asleep and so I'm trying not to laugh as loud as I want to! "Leave some leftovers!" Ha! Also, sometimes we have owls behind our house; I even got a (badly out-of-focus) picture of one once. You should totally come hang out with me.

  6. Anita, my 4 year old, is obsessed with owls. She has 19 imaginary pet owls, all with names. I think it's best if we agree not to tell her about this.

  7. Hi Heather! I am coming over from Mary's blog. She recommended your blog as a good read.
Oh dear. Not a good day to be an owl at your house. I loved the comparison to Beiber though. That made it more real...and more creepy of course!

    Nice to meet you!
