Say that in yer best Paula Dean voice. I luh me some Paula Dang Dean:)
Anyway, I also figured out that Jen tweeted my blog post earlier this week, which is why a certain MR. PATRICK MADRID sent me an email of encouragement on Wednesday !!! FAINTING! Fain. ting!!! To what do I owe this honor, Mr Patrick Madrid, Sir?!
Don't y'all realize I'm just a crazy lady with a massive pile of laundry and a hoarse voice from yellin at the kids to settle the H down all day?!
Hey, no judge-y! I'm workin on it, IIIIIII'm workin on it.
But for real, thank you Jen and thank you friends (rhyming now!) for your kind responses and encouragement, tweets, twitters, likes and shares.
2. Have you seen this amazing article ? It's by Dr Taylor Marshall and it's called "5 Tips For Young Parents and Large Families."
The tip about sleep is so huge, because can I just tell you? You take a wife who is half middle eastern and a quarter Irish and a quarter English and a husband who is half Italian and half German, mix that together with a ridiculous lack of sleep and what do you get?
An angry mushroom cloud with a whole lot of Nationality flying around.
This is merely representative. We are not in possession of Hitler's moustache. It is not welcome in our home. |
3. Last Friday was my first official day of going gluten free, and guess what? I'm not dead! And that is GREAT.
Thanks to those who encouraged me via the Mama Knows Honeychild facebook page! I'll share my gluten free adventures sometimes soon, I'm sure.
4. YAY it's almost OCTOBER!! I love fall so much. Is anybody having a fall mantle link up around here, or do I have to do it? Because we should totally show off our fall mantle-y decor. I know some of you don't like decorating and you might feel disappointed in me now, so I would also like to announce my future plans for a My House Looks Like Crap Today link up. I'm not joking about this. Tell me who has a fall mantle or crap house link up or if I should just start one myself.
5. Wanna do something great for your marriage today? CLEAN YOUR BEDROOM! Really, I'm serious. It doesn't need to look like something out of a magazine, but just at least clean the thing if it's messy. Clean up the floor, fluff the bed (whatever that means), change sheets, declutter, light some candles, whatever. Make it nice for the weekend so that you can relax in there, ETC.!!!!
6. Next week I'm hosting a giveaway for Katrina from Burbank Homestead! It's a hair clip giveaway, so if you have hair, or know someone who does, this giveaway is for YOU!
7. Lastly, did you know that Roger Pervich wrote a new review ? Well, he did. In case you missed it, there's one on a deer bust, also. So go read, and happy Friday to you!!
Go see Jen for more Quick Takes!!!
I will totally join the My house looks like crap today link-up. I can join that one everyday of the week :)
ReplyDeleteOne more for the "my house looks ike crap" linkup. And I don't have a mantle but will be decorating the porch.
ReplyDeleteI am an empty nester and my house still is messy!
ReplyDeleteRoger can always make me laugh.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I'll join the "my house looks like crap" link-up as well. Could you make sure you do it on Thursday though? That's the only day of the week that my house looks like crap. Ha. Haha. Hahaha.
Thanks for the laughs...i need it on a friday, after homeschooling all week, while my husband was on the opposite side of the country for the duration of said week...and just as a "reward-for-getting-through-husbandless-week" I thought today would be a good day to tote my 5 to a very long drive to a place where i force young children to walk around looking at a garden all day....anyway....laughing hard.
ReplyDeleteMy life is now richer after reading the amazon review. Thanks for the laugh this evening!
ReplyDeleteI love the 'house looks like crap' linkup idea. I might even use it as an excuse to clean even less than I normally do!
ReplyDeleteI have been gluten free for 2 years (mostly bc my youngest daughter hulks out if she eats the damn stuff). Favorite flour to use is Gluten Free Mama's almond blend. I make pizza with it that totally rocks! Let me know if you want the recipe.
ReplyDeleteI would totally do both of those link-ups. Go for it!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the laugh, I really needed it tonight. My family has been gf now for a couple of years. Even though it is not always easy - we feel SO much better now that we are gf. Good Luck.
ReplyDeleteI don't have a mantle. :-(
ReplyDeleteI've been gluten free for over a year now. Chronic illness? I kicked it 's butt just by taking out wheat. As a mom of 7.... I needed that. My story is on my blot and I've got killer recipes to share if you need any. Go you! Gluten free AND Pat Madrid. NICE!
ReplyDeleteThe Hitler moustache comment made me laugh out loud... something I don't do easily.
ReplyDelete"We are not in possession of Hitler's moustache. It is not welcome in our home." was easily the best two sentences I've read today
ReplyDeleteThat Hitler's mustache is the best thing I've read all day... which, admittedly, isn't much, but you should still feel good.
ReplyDeleteSign me up for the messy house linkup.
I'm finishing up 30 days of gluten free, along with no dairy, wine, legumes and sugar. It's from a book called It Starts with Food. As much as I hate to admit it, I really DO feel so much better. And the 7 less pounds I'm carrying is a nice bonus. Now, to keep up some semblance of healthy eating for the long term. Sigh.
ReplyDelete"my house looks like crap" link-up??? Yes yes and yes. I think I would "win" if there were a prize. It certainly sounds like it would be fun.
ReplyDeletetotally agree with you about trying to keep the bedroom neat! We've been working on being more aware with it and it makes a difference :)
ReplyDeleteCrap house? Check. Ol' Rodgy Boy? Check. Feel better diet? Check. Clean your dang bedroom for the sake of all things sane and loving? Major check. All these comments and readers? Check (ahh!).
ReplyDeleteAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! haha:)
DeleteAre you doing a Lilla Rose giveaway? Those things are the shizz.
ReplyDeleteYes ma'am, I am!! I really love the clip she sent me. It's really pretty. Did you do one of the giveaways too, Jenna?
DeleteI love your blog, and the crappy house link up is awesome! My house was/is in an impressive state of disarry...my home likes to teeter on verge of condemtion. I almost posted a blog about it. Well i post about it frequently but i have shared pictures. A link up just might be the think i need to prove my lack of house wife-ish skills. :)
ReplyDeleteYes yes times a million to crappy house link up (or as we call it, every day life)
